14 If I am still alive, show me the loyal love of the Lord, that I may not die;[a] 15 and do not cut off your loyalty from my house for ever. When the Lord cuts off every one of the enemies of David from the face of the earth, 16 let not the name of Jonathan be cut off from the house of David.[b] And may the Lord take vengeance on David’s enemies.”

14 But show me unfailing kindness(A) like the Lord’s kindness as long as I live, so that I may not be killed, 15 and do not ever cut off your kindness from my family(B)—not even when the Lord has cut off every one of David’s enemies from the face of the earth.”
16 So Jonathan(C) made a covenant(D) with the house of David, saying, “May the Lord call David’s enemies to account.(E)”
