1 Samuel 2:32-34
Good News Translation
32 You will be troubled and look with envy[a] on all the blessings I will give to the other people of Israel, but no one in your family will ever again live to old age. 33 Yet I will keep one of your descendants alive, and he will serve me as priest. But he[b] will become blind and lose all hope, and all your other descendants will die a violent death. 34 (A)When your two sons Hophni and Phinehas both die on the same day, this will show you that everything I have said will come true.

New International Version
32 and you will see distress(A) in my dwelling. Although good will be done to Israel, no one in your family line will ever reach old age.(B) 33 Every one of you that I do not cut off from serving at my altar I will spare only to destroy your sight and sap your strength, and all your descendants(C) will die in the prime of life.
34 “‘And what happens to your two sons, Hophni and Phinehas, will be a sign(D) to you—they will both die(E) on the same day.(F)
