20 Eli would bless Elkanah and his wife: “May the Lord replace[a] the child of this woman that you gave back to the Lord.” Then they would return home. 21 The Lord paid attention to Hannah, and she conceived and gave birth to three sons and two daughters. Meanwhile, the boy Samuel grew up in the Lord’s service.
22 Eli was very old, but he heard everything his sons were doing to the Israelites, and how they had sex with the women who served at the meeting tent’s entrance.

20 Eli would bless Elkanah and his wife, saying, “May the Lord give you children by this woman to take the place of the one she prayed(A) for and gave to[a] the Lord.” Then they would go home. 21 And the Lord was gracious to Hannah;(B) she gave birth to three sons and two daughters. Meanwhile, the boy Samuel grew(C) up in the presence of the Lord.
22 Now Eli, who was very old, heard about everything(D) his sons were doing to all Israel and how they slept with the women(E) who served at the entrance to the tent of meeting.
