1 Samuel 18:8-10

8 And Saul was very angry, and this saying displeased him. He said, “They have ascribed to David ten thousands, and to me they have ascribed thousands, and what more can he have but (A)the kingdom?” 9 And Saul eyed David from that day on.
10 The next day (B)a harmful spirit from God rushed upon Saul, and (C)he raved within his house while David was (D)playing the lyre, as he did day by day. (E)Saul had his spear in his hand.

New International Version
8 Saul was very angry; this refrain displeased him greatly. “They have credited David with tens of thousands,” he thought, “but me with only thousands. What more can he get but the kingdom?(A)” 9 And from that time on Saul kept a close(B) eye on David.
10 The next day an evil[a] spirit(C) from God came forcefully on Saul. He was prophesying in his house, while David was playing the lyre,(D) as he usually(E) did. Saul had a spear(F) in his hand
