46 Today the Lord will hand you over to me. I will strike you down and cut off your head. Today I will give the dead bodies of the army of the Philistines to the birds of the air and to the wild animals of the earth. Then all the earth will know that there is a God in Israel, 47 and all those gathered here will know that the Lord does not save with sword and spear, for the battle belongs to the Lord, and he will deliver you into our hand.”
48 Then, when the Philistine started advancing to attack David, David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet the Philistine.

46 This day the Lord will deliver(A) you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. This very day I will give the carcasses(B) of the Philistine army to the birds and the wild animals, and the whole world(C) will know that there is a God in Israel.(D) 47 All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword(E) or spear that the Lord saves;(F) for the battle(G) is the Lord’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.”
48 As the Philistine moved closer to attack him, David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet him.

46 This day will the Lord deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.
47 And all this assembly shall know that the Lord saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the Lord's, and he will give you into our hands.
48 And it came to pass, when the Philistine arose, and came, and drew nigh to meet David, that David hastened, and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine.
