“^(A)Has the Lord as much delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices
As in obeying the voice of the Lord?
Behold, ^(B)to obey is better than sacrifice,
And to heed than the fat of rams.

⁸ The ^(A)sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord,
But ^(B)the prayer of the upright is His delight.

¹¹ “^(A)What are your multiplied sacrifices to Me?”
Says the Lord.
“I ^[a]have had enough of burnt offerings of rams
And the fat of fed cattle;
And I take no pleasure in the blood of bulls, lambs or goats.

⁷ Does the Lord take delight in ^(A)thousands of rams,
In ten thousand rivers of oil?
Shall I present my ^(B)firstborn for my rebellious acts,
The fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?
⁸ He has ^(C)told you, O man, what is good;
And ^(D)what does the Lord require of you
But to ^(E)do justice, to ^(F)love ^[a]kindness,
And to walk ^[b](G)humbly with your God?
