Saul Fights Against His Enemies

⁴⁷ Now Saul had taken the kingdom over Israel, and he fought against all his enemies on every side, against Moab, ^(A)the sons of Ammon, Edom, ^(B)the kings of Zobah, and ^(C)the Philistines; and wherever he turned, he ^[a]inflicted punishment.

^16 (A)And Hadadezer sent and brought out the Arameans who were beyond the ^[a]River, and they came to Helam; and ^(B)Shobach the commander of the army of Hadadezer ^[b]led them.

¹⁹ Then all the kings, the servants of Hadadezer, saw that they were ^[a]defeated by Israel. So ^(A)they made peace with Israel and served them. And the Arameans were afraid to save the sons of Ammon anymore.
