1 Samuel 12:21-23
International Standard Version
21 Don’t turn aside after useless things[a] that cannot profit or deliver because they’re useless. 22 Indeed, the Lord won’t abandon His people for the sake of His great name, for the Lord desires to make you a people for himself. 23 Now as for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord by ceasing to pray for you. I’ll also instruct you in the way that is good and right.

21 Do not turn away after useless(A) idols.(B) They can do you no good, nor can they rescue you, because they are useless. 22 For the sake(C) of his great name(D) the Lord will not reject(E) his people, because the Lord was pleased to make(F) you his own. 23 As for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord by failing to pray(G) for you. And I will teach(H) you the way that is good and right.
