17 For the time has come for judgment to begin with the household of God. Now if it begins with us, what will be the end for those who disobey the gospel of God? 18 And if it is hard for the righteous to be saved, where will the ungodly sinner end up? 19 So let those who suffer according to the will of God entrust their souls to their faithful Creator while doing what is good.

17 For it is time for judgment to begin with God’s household;(A) and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God?(B) 18 And,
“If it is hard for the righteous to be saved,
what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?”[a](C)
19 So then, those who suffer according to God’s will(D) should commit themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do good.
