New International Version

²⁴After Pharaoh’s daughter^(A) had come up from the City of David to the palace Solomon had built for her, he constructed the terraces.^(B)

⁹And David lived in the stronghold and called it ^(A)the city of David. And David built the city all around from the ^(B)Millo inward.

⁹David then took up residence in the fortress and called it the City of David. He built up the area around it, from the terraces^[a]^(A) inward.
