²⁹ That thine eyes may be open toward this house, night and day, even toward the place whereof thou hast said, ^(A)My Name shall be there: that thou mayest hearken unto the prayer which thy servant prayeth in this place.

⁵ Since the day that I brought my people out of the land of Egypt, I chose no city of all the tribes of Israel to build an ^[a]house, that my Name might be there, neither chose I any man to be a ruler over my people Israel:

¹² ¶ And the Lord ^(A)appeared to Solomon by night, and said to him, I have heard thy prayer, and have chosen this place for myself to be an house of sacrifice.

¹⁶ For I have now chosen and sanctified this house, that my Name may be there forever: and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.
