46 He removed from the land the rest of the male shrine prostitutes who remained from the days of his father Asa. 47 There was no king in Edom, but rather a governor represented the king.
48 Jehoshaphat constructed trading ships[a] to go to Ophir for gold, but they never set out, because the ships were wrecked at Ezion Geber.[b]

New International Version
46 He rid the land of the rest of the male shrine prostitutes(A) who remained there even after the reign of his father Asa. 47 There was then no king(B) in Edom; a provincial governor ruled.
48 Now Jehoshaphat built a fleet of trading ships[a](C) to go to Ophir for gold, but they never set sail—they were wrecked at Ezion Geber.(D)
