46 He eradicated from the land the rest of the male cult prostitutes who were left from the days of his father Asa.(A) 47 There was no king in Edom;(B) a deputy served as king. 48 Jehoshaphat made ships of Tarshish(C) to go to Ophir(D) for gold, but they did not go because the ships were wrecked at Ezion-geber.(E)

46 He rid the land of the rest of the male shrine prostitutes(A) who remained there even after the reign of his father Asa. 47 There was then no king(B) in Edom; a provincial governor ruled.
48 Now Jehoshaphat built a fleet of trading ships[a](C) to go to Ophir for gold, but they never set sail—they were wrecked at Ezion Geber.(D)
