⁴⁵Meanwhile, the sky grew black with clouds, the wind rose, a heavy rain^(A) started falling and Ahab rode off to Jezreel.^(B)

⁴⁶But the hand of the Lord was on Elijah; he girded up his loins and ran in front of Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.^(A)

⁴⁶The power^(A) of the Lord came on Elijah and, tucking his cloak into his belt,^(B) he ran ahead of Ahab all the way to Jezreel.
