Elijah’s Prayer
36 (A)At the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, Elijah the prophet came near and said, “(B)O Lord, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, today let it be known that (C)You are God in Israel and that I am Your servant and (D)I have done all these things at Your word. 37 Answer me, O Lord, answer me, that this people may know that You, O Lord, are God, and that You have turned their heart back again.”

35 The water ran down around the altar and even filled the trench.
36 At the time(A) of sacrifice, the prophet Elijah stepped forward and prayed: “Lord, the God of Abraham,(B) Isaac and Israel, let it be known(C) today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant and have done all these things at your command.(D) 37 Answer me, Lord, answer me, so these people will know(E) that you, Lord, are God, and that you are turning their hearts back again.”
