²⁹ As soon as he began to reign, he killed Jeroboam’s whole family.^(A) He did not leave Jeroboam anyone that breathed, but destroyed them all, according to the word of the Lord given through his servant Ahijah the Shilonite.

²¹ He says, ‘I am going to bring disaster on you. I will wipe out your descendants and cut off from Ahab every last male^(A) in Israel—slave or free.^{[a](B) 22} I will make your house^(C) like that of Jeroboam son of Nebat and that of Baasha son of Ahijah, because you have aroused my anger and have caused Israel to sin.’^(D)
