²⁸ Therefore the king asked advice, ^(A)made two calves of gold, and said to the people, “It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem. ^(B)Here are your gods, O Israel, which brought you up from the land of Egypt!”

⁹ but you have done more evil than all who were before you, ^(A)for you have gone and made for yourself other gods and molded images to provoke Me to anger, and ^(B)have cast Me behind your back—

²⁹ However Jehu did not turn away from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who had made Israel sin, that is, from ^(A)the golden calves that were at Bethel and Dan.

¹⁶ So they left all the commandments of the Lord their God, ^(A)made for themselves a molded image and two calves, ^(B)made a wooden image and worshiped all the ^(C)host of heaven, ^(D)and served Baal.

⁸ And now you think to withstand the kingdom of the Lord, which is in the hand of the sons of David; and you are a great multitude, and with you are the gold calves which Jeroboam ^(A)made for you as gods.
