12 But I will not do it in thy days for David, thy father’s sake, but I will rend it out of the hand of thy son.
13 However, I will not rend away all the kingdom, but will give one tribe to thy son for David, my slave’s sake, and for Jerusalem’s sake which I have chosen.
14 ¶ And the LORD stirred up an adversary unto Solomon, Hadad, the Edomite; he was of the king’s seed in Edom.

12 Nevertheless, for the sake of David(A) your father, I will not do it during your lifetime. I will tear it out of the hand of your son. 13 Yet I will not tear the whole kingdom from him, but will give him one tribe(B) for the sake(C) of David my servant and for the sake of Jerusalem, which I have chosen.”(D)
