6 As many as abide in him do not sin. Whoever sins has not seen him, neither has known him.
7 Babes, let no one deceive you. He who does righteousness is righteous, just as he is righteous. 8 He who commits sin is of the devil. For the devil has sinned since the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God appeared: to destroy the works of the devil.

New International Version
6 No one who lives in him keeps on sinning.(A) No one who continues to sin has either seen him(B) or known him.(C)
7 Dear children,(D) do not let anyone lead you astray.(E) The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous.(F) 8 The one who does what is sinful is of the devil,(G) because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God(H) appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.(I)
