1 John 2:8-10
English Standard Version
8 At the same time, it is (A)a new commandment that I am writing to you, which is true in him and in you, because[a] (B)the darkness is passing away and (C)the true light is already shining. 9 Whoever says he is in the light and (D)hates his brother is still in darkness. 10 Whoever loves his brother abides in the light, and in him[b] there is no (E)cause for stumbling.

8 Yet I am writing you a new command;(A) its truth is seen in him and in you, because the darkness is passing(B) and the true light(C) is already shining.(D)
9 Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates a brother or sister[a](E) is still in the darkness.(F) 10 Anyone who loves their brother and sister[b] lives in the light,(G) and there is nothing in them to make them stumble.(H)
