19 They went out from us, but they were not of [a] us. For if they had been of us, they would have remained with us. But they went out in order that they might be made-evident that[b] they all are not of us.
You Have God’s Anointing And You Know The Truth. Let It Abide In You And You In It
20 And you have an Anointing[c] from the Holy One, and you all have-knowledge[d]. 21 I did not write to you because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and that[e] every lie is not from[f] the truth.

New International Version
19 They went out from us,(A) but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us.(B)
20 But you have an anointing(C) from the Holy One,(D) and all of you know the truth.[a](E) 21 I do not write to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it(F) and because no lie comes from the truth.
