1 Corinthians 9:17-19

17 If I do this as a volunteer, I receive compensation. But if not, I have been entrusted with a responsibility as a steward. 18 What then is my compensation? To present the gospel of Christ[a] free of charge when I preach it, instead of making use of the right I have when I preach the gospel.
19 In fact, although I am free from all, I enslaved myself to all so that I might gain many more.

17 If I preach voluntarily, I have a reward;(A) if not voluntarily, I am simply discharging the trust committed to me.(B) 18 What then is my reward? Just this: that in preaching the gospel I may offer it free of charge,(C) and so not make full use of my rights(D) as a preacher of the gospel.
