17 For if I do this of mine own will, I have a reward: but if not of mine own will, I have a stewardship intrusted to me. 18 What then is my reward? That, when I [a]preach the gospel, I may make the [b]gospel without charge, so as not to use to the full my right in the [c]gospel. 19 For though I was free from all men, I brought myself under bondage to all, that I might gain the more.

17 If I preach voluntarily, I have a reward;(A) if not voluntarily, I am simply discharging the trust committed to me.(B) 18 What then is my reward? Just this: that in preaching the gospel I may offer it free of charge,(C) and so not make full use of my rights(D) as a preacher of the gospel.
