⁶I say this as a concession, not as a command.^(A)

1 Corinthians 7:6

⁶But I speak this by permission, and not of commandment.

¹⁰To the married I give this command (not I, but the Lord): A wife must not separate from her husband.^(A)

¹⁰And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband:

¹⁷In this self-confident boasting I am not talking as the Lord would,^(A) but as a fool.^(B)

¹⁷That which I speak, I speak it not after the Lord, but as it were foolishly, in this confidence of boasting.
