54 And when this decayable body puts-on undecayability, and this mortal body puts on immortality, then the saying having been written will come-about[a]: “Death was swallowed-up in victory” [Isa 25:8]. 55 “Death, where is your victory? Death, where is your stinger?” [Hos 13:14]. 56 Now the stinger[b] of death is sin, and the power of sin is the Law[c].

54 When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”[a](A)
