1 Corinthians 15:53-55

New Living Translation

⁵³For our dying bodies must be transformed into bodies that will never die; our mortal bodies must be transformed into immortal bodies.

⁵⁴Then, when our dying bodies have been transformed into bodies that will never die,^[a] this Scripture will be fulfilled:

“Death is swallowed up in victory.^[b]
⁵⁵O death, where is your victory?
O death, where is your sting?^[c]”

⁵³For the perishable^(A) must clothe itself with the imperishable,^(B) and the mortal with immortality. ⁵⁴When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”^[a]^(C)
