1 Corinthians 14:4-6
New International Reader's Version
4 Anyone who speaks in other languages builds up only themselves. But the person who prophesies builds up the church. 5 I would like all of you to speak in other languages. But I would rather have you prophesy. The person who prophesies is more helpful than those who speak in other languages. But that is not the case if someone explains what was said in the other languages. Then the whole church can be built up.
6 Brothers and sisters, suppose I were to come to you and speak in other languages. What good would I be to you? None! I would need to come with new truth or knowledge. Or I would need to come with a prophecy or a teaching.

New International Version
4 Anyone who speaks in a tongue(A) edifies(B) themselves, but the one who prophesies(C) edifies the church. 5 I would like every one of you to speak in tongues,[a] but I would rather have you prophesy.(D) The one who prophesies is greater than the one who speaks in tongues,[b] unless someone interprets, so that the church may be edified.(E)
6 Now, brothers and sisters, if I come to you and speak in tongues, what good will I be to you, unless I bring you some revelation(F) or knowledge(G) or prophecy or word of instruction?(H)
