3 But I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, the head of a woman is her husband, and the head of Christ is God. 4 Any man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head, 5 but any woman who prays or prophesies with her head unveiled dishonors her head—it is the same as if her head were shaven.

3 But I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ,(A) and the head of the woman is man,[a](B) and the head of Christ is God.(C) 4 Every man who prays or prophesies(D) with his head covered dishonors his head. 5 But every woman who prays or prophesies(E) with her head uncovered dishonors her head—it is the same as having her head shaved.(F)
