1 Corinthians 10:5-7

Good News Translation

⁵^(A)But even then God was not pleased with most of them, and so their dead bodies were scattered over the desert.

⁶^(B)Now, all of this is an example for us, to warn us not to desire evil things, as they did, ⁷^(C)nor to worship idols, as some of them did. As the scripture says, “The people sat down to a feast which turned into an orgy of drinking and sex.”

⁶Now these things occurred as examples^(B) to keep us from setting our hearts on evil things as they did. ⁷Do not be idolaters,^(C) as some of them were; as it is written: “The people sat down to eat and drink and got up to indulge in revelry.”^[a]^(D)
