26 So four chief gatekeepers, who were Levites, were in an office of trust and were in charge of the rooms and the treasuries in God’s house. 27 They were stationed around God’s house through the night, because that duty was assigned to them, and their duty was to open it every morning. 28 Some of them were in charge of the vessels for the service. They counted them before and after each service.

26 But the four principal gatekeepers, who were Levites, were entrusted with the responsibility for the rooms and treasuries(A) in the house of God. 27 They would spend the night stationed around the house of God,(B) because they had to guard it; and they had charge of the key(C) for opening it each morning.

28 Some of them were in charge of the articles used in the temple service; they counted them when they were brought in and when they were taken out.
