¹⁰And ^(A)Hosah, of the sons of Merari, had sons: Shimri the chief (for though he was not the firstborn, his father made him chief),

¹⁰Hosah the Merarite had sons: Shimri the first (although he was not the firstborn, his father had appointed him the first),^(A)

³⁸and also ^(A)Obed-edom and his^[a] sixty-eight brothers, while ^(B)Obed-edom, the son of Jeduthun, and ^(C)Hosah were to be gatekeepers.

³⁸He also left Obed-Edom^(A) and his sixty-eight associates to minister with them. Obed-Edom son of Jeduthun, and also Hosah,^(B) were gatekeepers.
