⁹ Behold, a son will be born to you, who shall be a man of rest; and ^(A)I will give him rest from all his enemies on every side; for ^(B)his name shall be ^[a]Solomon, and I will give peace and quiet to Israel in his days. ^10 (C)He shall build a house for My name, and he shall be a son to Me and I will be a father to him; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever.’

^5 (A)Now of all my sons (for Yahweh has given me many sons), ^(B)He has chosen my son Solomon to sit on the throne of the kingdom of Yahweh over Israel. ⁶ And He said to me, ‘Your son ^(C)Solomon is the one who shall build My house and My courts; for I have chosen him to be a son to Me, and I will be a father to him. ⁷ And I will establish his kingdom forever ^(D)if he will be strong to do My commandments and My judgments, as ^[a]is done now.’
