エバル山に建てる記念碑
27 さらに、モーセとイスラエルの長老たちは、民に次のような指示を与え、そのとおり行うよう命じました。 2-4 「ヨルダン川を渡り、約束の地、乳とみつの流れる地に入ったら、川底から丸い石を取り、川向こうのエバル山に記念碑を建てなさい。石の表面には石灰を塗り、神様の律法のすべてのことばを書き記しなさい。 5-6 またそこに、主のために祭壇を築きなさい。自然のままの丸い石を積み重ね、その上で、焼き尽くすいけにえをささげるのです。 7 さらに和解のいけにえをささげ、あなたの神、主の前で喜び祝いなさい。 8 重ねて言いますが、記念碑にこの律法のことばをすべてはっきりと書き記しなさい。」
のろいの宣言
9 それから、モーセとレビ人の祭司たちとは、イスラエルのすべての民に呼びかけました。「みんな、よく聞きなさい。今日、あなたがたは主の民となりました。 10 だから今日から、主の御声に聞き従い、今日、私が与える律法を行いなさい。」
11 その日、モーセは民に命じました。 12 「約束の地に入ったら、シメオン、レビ、ユダ、イッサカル、ヨセフ、ベニヤミンの各部族は、ゲリジム山に立って祝福を告げ、 13 ルベン、ガド、アシェル、ゼブルン、ダン、ナフタリの各部族は、エバル山に立ってのろいを告げなさい。 14 それから、レビ人が両者の間に立って全国民に向かって宣言しなさい。
15 『隠れて、彫像や鋳像を造って拝む者はのろわれる。主は人間が造った神々を憎まれるからだ。』民はみな、『アーメン』（「そのとおりです」「そうしてください」の意）と答えなさい。
16 『親を侮辱する者はのろわれる。』民はみな、『アーメン』と答えなさい。
17 『隣人の土地との境界線を移す者はのろわれる。』民はみな、『アーメン』と答えなさい。
18 『盲人の弱みにつけ込む者はのろわれる。』民はみな、『アーメン』と答えなさい。
19 『在留外国人、身寄りのない子、未亡人などに不正を働く者はのろわれる。』民はみな、『アーメン』と答えなさい。
20 『父の妻（義理の母）と寝る者はのろわれる。彼女は父親のものだからだ。』民はみな、『アーメン』と答えなさい。
21 『獣姦をする者はのろわれる。』民はみな、『アーメン』と答えなさい。
22 『異父姉妹であれ異母姉妹であれ、自分の姉妹と寝る者はのろわれる。』民はみな、『アーメン』と答えなさい。
23 『妻の母と寝る者はのろわれる。』民はみな、『アーメン』と答えなさい。
24 『ひそかに殺人を犯す者はのろわれる。』民はみな、『アーメン』と答えなさい。
25 『報酬をもらって、罪のない人を殺す者はのろわれる。』民はみな、『アーメン』と答えなさい。
26 『この律法を守らない者はのろわれる。』民はみな、『アーメン』と答えなさい。

The Altar on Mount Ebal
27 Moses and the elders of Israel commanded the people: “Keep all these commands(A) that I give you today. 2 When you have crossed the Jordan(B) into the land the Lord your God is giving you, set up some large stones(C) and coat them with plaster.(D) 3 Write on them all the words of this law when you have crossed over to enter the land the Lord your God is giving you, a land flowing with milk and honey,(E) just as the Lord, the God of your ancestors, promised you. 4 And when you have crossed the Jordan, set up these stones on Mount Ebal,(F) as I command you today, and coat them with plaster. 5 Build there an altar(G) to the Lord your God, an altar of stones. Do not use any iron tool(H) on them. 6 Build the altar of the Lord your God with fieldstones and offer burnt offerings on it to the Lord your God. 7 Sacrifice fellowship offerings(I) there, eating them and rejoicing(J) in the presence of the Lord your God.(K) 8 And you shall write very clearly all the words of this law on these stones(L) you have set up.”(M)
Curses From Mount Ebal
9 Then Moses and the Levitical(N) priests said to all Israel, “Be silent, Israel, and listen! You have now become the people of the Lord your God.(O) 10 Obey the Lord your God and follow his commands and decrees that I give you today.”
11 On the same day Moses commanded the people:
12 When you have crossed the Jordan, these tribes shall stand on Mount Gerizim(P) to bless the people: Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar,(Q) Joseph and Benjamin.(R) 13 And these tribes shall stand on Mount Ebal(S) to pronounce curses: Reuben, Gad, Asher, Zebulun, Dan and Naphtali.
14 The Levites shall recite to all the people of Israel in a loud voice:
15 “Cursed is anyone who makes an idol(T)—a thing detestable(U) to the Lord, the work of skilled hands—and sets it up in secret.”
Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”(V)
16 “Cursed is anyone who dishonors their father or mother.”(W)
Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”
17 “Cursed is anyone who moves their neighbor’s boundary stone.”(X)
Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”
18 “Cursed is anyone who leads the blind astray on the road.”(Y)
Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”
19 “Cursed is anyone who withholds justice from the foreigner,(Z) the fatherless or the widow.”(AA)
Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”
20 “Cursed is anyone who sleeps with his father’s wife, for he dishonors his father’s bed.”(AB)
Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”
21 “Cursed is anyone who has sexual relations with any animal.”(AC)
Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”
22 “Cursed is anyone who sleeps with his sister, the daughter of his father or the daughter of his mother.”(AD)
Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”
23 “Cursed is anyone who sleeps with his mother-in-law.”(AE)
Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”
24 “Cursed is anyone who kills(AF) their neighbor secretly.”(AG)
Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”
25 “Cursed is anyone who accepts a bribe to kill an innocent person.”(AH)
Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”
26 “Cursed is anyone who does not uphold the words of this law by carrying them out.”(AI)
Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”(AJ)
