祭司の組み分け
24 1-2 アロンの子孫の祭司は、アロンの二人の息子エルアザルとイタマルの名にちなんで、二つの組に分けられました。ナダブとアビフもアロンの息子でしたが、二人とも父に先立って死に、しかも、子どもがいませんでした。それで、エルアザルとイタマルだけが祭司の務めを果たしたのです。 3 ダビデは、エルアザルの氏族を代表するツァドクと、イタマルの氏族を代表するアヒメレクとに相談して、交替で奉仕できるよう、祭司を多くのグループに分けました。 4 エルアザルの子孫は、指導者となる人材に恵まれていたので、十六組に分けられ、イタマルの子孫は八組に分けられました。
5 あらゆる務めは特定の組に片寄らないよう、くじで各組に割り当てられました。どの組にも多くのすぐれた人材がいて、神殿の重要な務めにつけたからです。 6 レビ人でネタヌエルの子シェマヤが書記となり、王をはじめ祭司ツァドク、エブヤタルの子アヒメレク、ならびに祭司とレビ人の長たちの前で、それぞれの名と役割を書き留めました。エルアザルの組からの二つのグループと、イタマルの組からの一つのグループが、交互に務めにつくようになっていました。
7-18 くじで、次の各グループの順序に従って、仕事が割り当てられました。
第一はエホヤリブのグループ。第二はエダヤのグループ。第三はハリムのグループ。第四はセオリムのグループ。第五はマルキヤのグループ。第六はミヤミンのグループ。第七はコツのグループ。第八はアビヤのグループ。第九はヨシュアのグループ。第十はシェカヌヤのグループ。第十一はエルヤシブのグループ。第十二はヤキムのグループ。第十三はフパのグループ。第十四はエシェブアブのグループ。第十五はビルガのグループ。第十六はイメルのグループ。第十七はヘジルのグループ。第十八はピツェツのグループ。第十九はペタフヤのグループ。第二十はエヘズケルのグループ。第二十一はヤキンのグループ。第二十二はガムルのグループ。第二十三はデラヤのグループ。第二十四はマアズヤのグループ。
19 各グループは、先祖アロンによって主から最初に指示されたとおり、神殿での務めにつきました。
その他のレビ人
20 そのほかのレビの子孫は次のとおり。アムラムおよび彼の子孫シュバエル、シュバエルの子孫エフデヤ、 21 長子イシヤを長とするレハブヤのグループ、 22 シェロミテと彼の子孫ヤハテからなるイツハルのグループ。
23 ヘブロンのグループは次のとおり。ヘブロンの長男エリヤ。次男アマルヤ。三男ヤハジエル。四男エカムアム。
24-25 ウジエルのグループの長は、その子ミカ、孫シャミル、ミカの兄弟イシヤ、イシヤの子ゼカリヤ。
26-27 メラリのグループの長は、その子マフリとムシ。その子孫ヤアジヤのグループは彼の子ベノを長とし、その兄弟ショハム、ザクル、イブリ。 28-29 マフリの子孫はエルアザルとキシュで、エルアザルには息子がなく、キシュには息子があり、その子孫、エラフメエル。 30 ムシの子孫はマフリ、エデル、エリモテ。以上が、それぞれの氏族に属するレビの子孫です。 31 アロンの子孫と同じように、彼らは年齢や身分に関係なく、くじで決まった順番で奉仕が割り当てられました。その順番は、ダビデ、ツァドク、アヒメレク、そのほかの祭司やレビ人の長たちの前で決められました。

The Divisions of Priests
24 These were the divisions(A) of the descendants of Aaron:(B)
The sons of Aaron were Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.(C) 2 But Nadab and Abihu died before their father did,(D) and they had no sons; so Eleazar and Ithamar served as the priests. 3 With the help of Zadok(E) a descendant of Eleazar and Ahimelek a descendant of Ithamar, David separated them into divisions for their appointed order of ministering. 4 A larger number of leaders were found among Eleazar’s descendants than among Ithamar’s, and they were divided accordingly: sixteen heads of families from Eleazar’s descendants and eight heads of families from Ithamar’s descendants. 5 They divided them impartially by casting lots,(F) for there were officials of the sanctuary and officials of God among the descendants of both Eleazar and Ithamar.
6 The scribe Shemaiah son of Nethanel, a Levite, recorded their names in the presence of the king and of the officials: Zadok the priest, Ahimelek(G) son of Abiathar and the heads of families of the priests and of the Levites—one family being taken from Eleazar and then one from Ithamar.
7 The first lot fell to Jehoiarib,
the second to Jedaiah,(H)
8 the third to Harim,(I)
the fourth to Seorim,
9 the fifth to Malkijah,
the sixth to Mijamin,
10 the seventh to Hakkoz,
the eighth to Abijah,(J)
11 the ninth to Jeshua,
the tenth to Shekaniah,
12 the eleventh to Eliashib,
the twelfth to Jakim,
13 the thirteenth to Huppah,
the fourteenth to Jeshebeab,
14 the fifteenth to Bilgah,
the sixteenth to Immer,(K)
15 the seventeenth to Hezir,(L)
the eighteenth to Happizzez,
16 the nineteenth to Pethahiah,
the twentieth to Jehezkel,
17 the twenty-first to Jakin,
the twenty-second to Gamul,
18 the twenty-third to Delaiah
and the twenty-fourth to Maaziah.
19 This was their appointed order of ministering when they entered the temple of the Lord, according to the regulations prescribed for them by their ancestor Aaron, as the Lord, the God of Israel, had commanded him.
The Rest of the Levites
20 As for the rest of the descendants of Levi:(M)
from the sons of Amram: Shubael;
from the sons of Shubael: Jehdeiah.
21 As for Rehabiah,(N) from his sons:
Ishiah was the first.
22 From the Izharites: Shelomoth;
from the sons of Shelomoth: Jahath.
23 The sons of Hebron:(O) Jeriah the first,[a] Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third and Jekameam the fourth.
24 The son of Uzziel: Micah;
from the sons of Micah: Shamir.
25 The brother of Micah: Ishiah;
from the sons of Ishiah: Zechariah.
26 The sons of Merari:(P) Mahli and Mushi.
The son of Jaaziah: Beno.
27 The sons of Merari:
from Jaaziah: Beno, Shoham, Zakkur and Ibri.
28 From Mahli: Eleazar, who had no sons.
29 From Kish: the son of Kish:
Jerahmeel.
30 And the sons of Mushi: Mahli, Eder and Jerimoth.
These were the Levites, according to their families. 31 They also cast lots,(Q) just as their relatives the descendants of Aaron did, in the presence of King David and of Zadok, Ahimelek, and the heads of families of the priests and of the Levites. The families of the oldest brother were treated the same as those of the youngest.
