5 Rántí, Olúwa, ohun tí ó ṣẹlẹ̀ sí wa;
wò ó, kí o sì rí ìtìjú wa.
2 Àwọn ohun ìní wa ti di ti àlejò,
ilé wa ti di ti àjèjì.
3 Àwa ti di aláìní òbí àti aláìní baba,
àwọn ìyá wa ti di opó.
4 A gbọdọ̀ ra omi tí à ń mu;
igi wa di títà fún wa.
5 Àwọn tí ó ń lé wa súnmọ́ wa;
àárẹ̀ mú wa àwa kò sì rí ìsinmi.
6 Àwa jọ̀wọ́ ara wa fún Ejibiti àti Asiria
láti rí oúnjẹ tó tó jẹ.
7 Àwọn baba wa ti ṣẹ̀, wọn kò sì ṣí mọ́,
àwa sì ń ru ìjìyà ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ wọn.
8 Àwọn ẹrú ń jẹ ọba lórí wa,
kò sì ṣí ẹni tí yóò gbà wá lọ́wọ́ wọn.
9 Àwa ń rí oúnjẹ wa nínú ewu ẹ̀mí wa
nítorí idà tí ó wà ní aginjù.
10 Ẹran-ara wa gbóná bí ààrò,
ebi sì yó wa bí àárẹ̀.
11 Wọ́n ti fipá bá àwọn obìnrin wa lòpọ̀ ní Sioni,
àti àwọn wúńdíá ti o wa ní ìlú Juda.
12 Àwọn ọmọ ọbakùnrin ti di síso sókè ní ọwọ́ wọn;
kò sí ìbọ̀wọ̀ fún àgbàgbà mọ́.
13 Àwọn ọ̀dọ́mọkùnrin wa ru òkúta;
àwọn ọmọkùnrin sì ń ṣàárẹ̀ lábẹ́ ẹrù igi.
14 Àwọn àgbàgbà ti lọ kúrò ní ẹnu-bodè ìlú;
àwọn ọ̀dọ́mọkùnrin sì dákẹ́ orin wọn
15 Ayọ̀ ti ṣáko ní ọkàn wa;
ọ̀fọ̀ sì ti dúró bí ijó fún wa.
16 Adé ti ṣí kúrò ní orí wa
ègbé ni fún wa, nítorí a ti ṣẹ̀.
17 Nítorí èyí, àárẹ̀ mú ọkàn wa,
nítorí èyí, ojú wa sì ṣú.
18 Fún òkè Sioni tí ó ti di ahoro
lórí rẹ̀ àwọn kọ̀lọ̀kọ̀lọ̀ sì ń rìn kiri.
19 Ìwọ, Olúwa, jẹ ọba títí láé;
ìjọba rẹ dúró láti ìran kan dé ìran mìíràn.
20 Kí ló dé tí o ń gbàgbé wa ní gbogbo ìgbà?
Kí ló dé tí o fi kọ̀ wá sílẹ̀ fún ọjọ́ pípẹ́?
21 Mú wa padà sí ọ̀dọ̀ rẹ, Olúwa, kí àwa kí ó le padà;
mú ọjọ́ wa di tuntun bí ìgbàanì
22 Àyàfi tí o bá ti kọ̀ wá sílẹ̀ pátápátá
tí ìbínú rẹ sí wa sì kọjá ìwọ̀n.

5 Remember, Lord, what has happened to us;
look, and see our disgrace.(A)
2 Our inheritance(B) has been turned over to strangers,(C)
our homes(D) to foreigners.(E)
3 We have become fatherless,
our mothers are widows.(F)
4 We must buy the water we drink;(G)
our wood can be had only at a price.(H)
5 Those who pursue us are at our heels;
we are weary(I) and find no rest.(J)
6 We submitted to Egypt and Assyria(K)
to get enough bread.
7 Our ancestors(L) sinned and are no more,
and we bear their punishment.(M)
8 Slaves(N) rule over us,
and there is no one to free us from their hands.(O)
9 We get our bread at the risk of our lives
because of the sword in the desert.
10 Our skin is hot as an oven,
feverish from hunger.(P)
11 Women have been violated(Q) in Zion,
and virgins in the towns of Judah.
12 Princes have been hung up by their hands;
elders(R) are shown no respect.(S)
13 Young men toil at the millstones;
boys stagger under loads of wood.
14 The elders are gone from the city gate;
the young men have stopped their music.(T)
15 Joy is gone from our hearts;
our dancing has turned to mourning.(U)
16 The crown(V) has fallen from our head.(W)
Woe to us, for we have sinned!(X)
17 Because of this our hearts(Y) are faint,(Z)
because of these things our eyes(AA) grow dim(AB)
18 for Mount Zion,(AC) which lies desolate,(AD)
with jackals prowling over it.
19 You, Lord, reign forever;(AE)
your throne endures(AF) from generation to generation.
20 Why do you always forget us?(AG)
Why do you forsake(AH) us so long?
21 Restore(AI) us to yourself, Lord, that we may return;
renew our days as of old
22 unless you have utterly rejected us(AJ)
and are angry with us beyond measure.(AK)
