11 تم میرے ما تحت چلو جیسے میں مسیح کے ماتحت چلتا ہوں۔
2 میں تمہا ری تو صیف کرتا ہوں کہ تم زندگی کے موڑ پر مجھے یاد رکھتے ہو اور جس طرح میں نے تمہیں تعلیمات پہنچا دیں تم اسی طرح ان کو بر قرار رکھو۔ 3 لیکن میں تمہیں سمجھا نا چا ہتا ہوں کہ مسیح ہر مرد کا سرپرست ہے اور مرد عورت کا سر پرست ہے اور خدا مسیح کا سرپرست ہے۔
4 کو ئی بھی مرد جو سر ڈھک کر دعا یا نبوت [a] کرتا تو وہ اپنے سر کی بے حرمتی کرتا ہے۔ 5 اسی طرح اگر کو ئی بھی عورت جو اپنے سر کو بغیر ڈھکے دعا یا نبوت کرتی ہے تو وہ اپنے سر کی بے حر متی کرتی ہے۔ یہ ٹھیک اس عورت کے جیسا ہے جس نے اپنا سر منڈوا لیا ہے۔ 6 اور یہ کسی بھی عورت کے لئے اپنے سر کے بال کٹوا لینا یا اپنا سر منڈوا لینا شرمندگی کی بات ہے۔ اس لئے اس عورت کو اپنا سر ڈھانک کر رکھنا چاہئے۔
7 لیکن مرد کو سر ڈھانکنا نہیں چاہئے کیوں کہ وہ خدا کی صورت اور اس کا جلا ل ہے لیکن عورت مرد کا جلال ہے۔ 8 اسلئے کہ مرد عورت سے نہیں بلکہ عورت مرد سے ہے۔ 9 اور مرد عورت کے لئے نہیں بلکہ عورت مرد کے لئے وجود میں آئی ہے۔ 10 عورت کو چاہئے کہ وہ اپنے سر پر محکوم ہو نے کی علامت رکھے۔فرشتوں کے سبب سے بھی اُسے ایسا کرنا چاہئے۔
11 لیکن خداوند میں کو ئی عورت مرد کے ساتھ آزاد نہیں ہے اور مرد عورت کے ساتھ آ زاد نہیں ہے۔ 12 یہ سچ ہے کیوں کہ جیسے عورت مرد سے ہے اسی طرح مرد عورت کے ذریعہ آیا ہے لیکن سب چیزیں خدا کی طرف سے ہیں۔
13 تم خود ہی طئے کرو، کیا عورت کا بے سرڈھکے خدا سے دعا کرنا مناسب ہے؟ 14 کیا قدرت خود تمہیں سبق نہیں دیتی کہ مرد لمبے بال رکھے تو اس کی بے حرمتی ہے۔ 15 لیکن عورت کے لمبے بال ہوں تو اس کی عزت ہے کیوں کہ بال چھپا نے کے لئے فطری طور پر دیئے گئے ہیں۔ 16 لیکن بعض لوگ اس پر بحث کرنا پسند کرتے ہیں مگر ہم خدا کی کلیسا اس پر بحث کرنا پسند نہیں کرتے۔
خداوند کے ساتھ رات کا کھانا
17 میں جو حکم دیتا ہوں اس میں تمہیں داد نہیں دیتا کیوں کہ تمہا رے جمع ہو نے سے بہتری سے زیادہ نقصان ہے۔ 18 اول تو میں سنتا ہوں کہ جس وقت تم کلیسا کے طوپر جمع ہو ئے تو تم میں تفرقے ہو گئے۔ اور میں کچھ حد تک یقین کرتا ہوں۔ 19 کیوں کہ تم میں تفریق کا ہو نا ضروری ہے تا کہ معلوم ہو جائے کہ تم میں با ایمان اور مقبول کون ہے۔
20 پس تم جمع ہو ئے تو جو کھا رہے ہو وہ عشا ئے رباّ نی [b] نہیں کھا رہے ہو۔ 21 کیوں کہ جب تم کھا نا کھا تے ہو تو دوسروں کا انتظار نہیں کرتے اور کوئی شخص بھو کا ہی چلا جاتا ہے اور کوئی اتنا کھا تا ہے کہ مست ہو جاتا ہے۔ 22 کیا کھانے پینے کے لئے تمہا رے گھر نہیں ہیں یا تم دکھا وے کے لئے خدا کی کلیسا کی حفا ظت کررہے ہو اور جن کے پاس کھانا نہیں انہیں شرمندہ کرتے ہو؟ میں تم سے کیا کہوں ؟ اس کے لئے کیا میں تمہا ری توصیف کروں؟ اس معاملہ میں میں تمہا ری سفارش نہیں کرتا۔
23 کیوں کہ جو تعلیم میں نے تمہیں دی ہے، وہ مجھے خداوند سے ملی تھی۔ یسو ع نے اس رات جب اسے ہلاک کر نے کے لئے پکڑا گیا تھا، ایک روٹی لی ، 24 اور شکر ادا کر کے توڑا اور کہا ،“یہ میرا بدن ہے جو میں تمکو دے رہا ہوں مجھے یاد کر نے کے لئے تم ایسا ہی کیا کرو۔” 25 اسی طرح اس نے کھا نے کے بعد مئے کا پیالہ بھی لیا اور کہا ،“اس پیالے میں میرے خون کے ساتھ نیا معا ہدہ مہر بند ہے جب کبھی تم اسے پیو تو مجھے یاد کر لیا کرو۔” 26 کیوں کہ جتنی بار بھی تم اس روٹی کو کھا تے ہو اور اس پیالے کو پیتے ہو، اتنی ہی بار جب تک کہ وہ آنہیں جاتا تم خداوند کی موت کا اظہار کرتے ہو۔
27 اس واسطے جو کوئی خدا وند کی روٹی نا منا سب طور پر کھا ئے اور خداوند کے پیالہ سے پئے وہ خدا وند کے بدن اور خون کا قصور وار ہوگا۔ 28 لیکن آدمی خود کو آزما لے ، تو وہ روٹی کھا ئے اور شراب کا پیالہ پئے۔ 29 کیوں کہ خداوند کے بدن کو نہ پہچا نے جو اس روٹی کو کھاتا اور اس پیالہ سے پیتا ہے وہ اس طرح کھا پی کر اپنے آپ کو قصور وار ٹھہرا ئے گا۔ 30 اسی سبب تم میں سے بہتر لوگ کمزور اور بیمار ہیں اور بہت سے مر گئے ہیں۔ 31 لیکن اگر ہم نےاپنے آپ کو جانچ لیا ہو تا تو ہم خدا کی پکڑ میں نہ آتے۔ 32 جب خداوند ہما را انصاف کرتا ہے ہم تو با وقار ہوں گے۔ تا کہ ہم دنیا میں رد نہیں ہوں گے۔
33 پس اے میرے بھا ئیو اور بہنو! جب تم کھا نے کے لئے جمع ہو تو ایک دوسرے کا انتظار کرو۔ 34 اگر سچ مچ کسی کو بہت بھوک لگی ہو تو اسے گھر پر ہی کھا لینا چاہئے تا کہ تمہارا جمع ہونا تمہارے لئے سزا کا سبب نہ بنے اور باقی باتوں کو میں آکر سمجھا دوں گا۔

11 1 Follow my example,(A) as I follow the example of Christ.(B)
On Covering the Head in Worship
2 I praise you(C) for remembering me in everything(D) and for holding to the traditions just as I passed them on to you.(E) 3 But I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ,(F) and the head of the woman is man,[a](G) and the head of Christ is God.(H) 4 Every man who prays or prophesies(I) with his head covered dishonors his head. 5 But every woman who prays or prophesies(J) with her head uncovered dishonors her head—it is the same as having her head shaved.(K) 6 For if a woman does not cover her head, she might as well have her hair cut off; but if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, then she should cover her head.
7 A man ought not to cover his head,[b] since he is the image(L) and glory of God; but woman is the glory of man. 8 For man did not come from woman, but woman from man;(M) 9 neither was man created for woman, but woman for man.(N) 10 It is for this reason that a woman ought to have authority over her own[c] head, because of the angels. 11 Nevertheless, in the Lord woman is not independent of man, nor is man independent of woman. 12 For as woman came from man, so also man is born of woman. But everything comes from God.(O)
13 Judge for yourselves: Is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered? 14 Does not the very nature of things teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him, 15 but that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For long hair is given to her as a covering. 16 If anyone wants to be contentious about this, we have no other practice—nor do the churches of God.(P)
Correcting an Abuse of the Lord’s Supper(Q)
17 In the following directives I have no praise for you,(R) for your meetings do more harm than good. 18 In the first place, I hear that when you come together as a church, there are divisions(S) among you, and to some extent I believe it. 19 No doubt there have to be differences among you to show which of you have God’s approval.(T) 20 So then, when you come together, it is not the Lord’s Supper you eat, 21 for when you are eating, some of you go ahead with your own private suppers.(U) As a result, one person remains hungry and another gets drunk. 22 Don’t you have homes to eat and drink in? Or do you despise the church of God(V) by humiliating those who have nothing?(W) What shall I say to you? Shall I praise you?(X) Certainly not in this matter!
23 For I received from the Lord(Y) what I also passed on to you:(Z) The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, 24 and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body,(AA) which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” 25 In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant(AB) in my blood;(AC) do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.” 26 For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.(AD)
27 So then, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord.(AE) 28 Everyone ought to examine themselves(AF) before they eat of the bread and drink from the cup. 29 For those who eat and drink without discerning the body of Christ eat and drink judgment on themselves. 30 That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a number of you have fallen asleep.(AG) 31 But if we were more discerning with regard to ourselves, we would not come under such judgment.(AH) 32 Nevertheless, when we are judged in this way by the Lord, we are being disciplined(AI) so that we will not be finally condemned with the world.(AJ)
33 So then, my brothers and sisters, when you gather to eat, you should all eat together. 34 Anyone who is hungry(AK) should eat something at home,(AL) so that when you meet together it may not result in judgment.
And when I come(AM) I will give further directions.

11 Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.
2 Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you.
3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
4 Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head.
5 But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.
6 For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.
7 For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.
8 For the man is not of the woman: but the woman of the man.
9 Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.

19 For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you.
20 When ye come together therefore into one place, this is not to eat the Lord's supper.
21 For in eating every one taketh before other his own supper: and one is hungry, and another is drunken.
22 What? have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? or despise ye the church of God, and shame them that have not? what shall I say to you? shall I praise you in this? I praise you not.
23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:
24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.
25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, this cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.
27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.
29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.
30 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.
31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
32 But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.
33 Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eat, tarry one for another.
34 And if any man hunger, let him eat at home; that ye come not together unto condemnation. And the rest will I set in order when I come.
