Deuteronomy 32:37-39
New American Bible (Revised Edition)
37 He will say, Where are their gods,(A)
the rock in whom they took refuge,
38 Who ate the fat of their sacrifices
and drank the wine of their libations?
Let them rise up now and help you!
Let them be your protection!
39 See now that I, I alone, am he,
and there is no god besides me.
It is I who bring both death and life,
I who inflict wounds and heal them,
and from my hand no one can deliver.(B)
Isaiah 41:29
New American Bible (Revised Edition)
29 Ah, all of them are nothing,
their works are nought,
their idols, empty wind!
Isaiah 44:9-10
New American Bible (Revised Edition)
9 [a]Those who fashion idols are all nothing;
their precious works are of no avail.
They are their witnesses:[b]
they see nothing, know nothing,
and so they are put to shame.(A)
10 Who would fashion a god or cast an idol,
that is of no use?
