“They shall howl, saying, ‘How it is broken down! How hath Moab turned the back with shame!’ So shall Moab be a derision and a dismaying to all those about him.”
How is it broken down! how do they wail! how hath Moab turned the back with shame! so shall Moab become a derision and a terror to all that are round about him.
“How it is broken down! How they have wailed! How Moab has turned his back in shame! So Moab will become a laughingstock and a [horrifying] terror to all who are around him.”

“How broken it is! They wail! How Moab has turned his back! He is ashamed. Moab will become a laughingstock and a shock to all those around him.”
How it’s shattered! Go wail! How Moab turns away! What shame! Moab has become the butt of every joke, horrific to all its neighbors.
Wail, “How shattered is Mo’av! How shamefully in retreat!” Thus will Mo’av become an object of ridicule and distress to all its neighbors.
Moab lies broken! Listen to its people cry as they turn away in shame. Other nations are horrified at what happened, but still they mock her.
They howl, How is it broken down! how hath Moab turned the back with shame! And Moab shall be a derision and a terror to all that are round about him.
How is it overthrown, and they have howled! How hath Moab bowed down the neck, and is confounded! And Moab shall be a derision, and an example to all round about him.
“Moab is shattered. The people are crying. Moab surrendered. Now Moab is ashamed. People make fun of Moab, but what happened fills them with fear.”
‘Yes, Moab will be like a broken jar. Its people will weep with loud voices. They will turn away because they are ashamed. All the nations around there will laugh at Moab. They will see the terrible trouble that it has received.’
How broken she is! How they wail! How Moab turns her back in shame! So Moab will be ridiculed and be a horror to all around.

“They will cry, ‘Look how Moab is defeated! Moab turns away in shame!’ Moab has become something ridiculed and something held in contempt by everyone around it.
Moab has been shattered! Cry out! Moab has been disgraced. It is in ruins, and all the surrounding nations make fun of it. I, the Lord, have spoken.”

How it is broken! Hear the wails! See the shame of Moab! For she is a sign of horror and of scoffing to her neighbors now.
“Moab ruined! Moab shamed and ashamed to be seen! Moab a cruel joke! The stark horror of Moab!” * * *
