Jeremiah 22:17
“But thine eyes and thine heart are for nothing but thy covetousness and to shed innocent blood, and for oppression and for violence.”

“But your eyes and your heart Are only intent on your own dishonest gain, On shedding innocent blood, On oppression and extortion and violence.”
But your eyes and your heart are only for your covetousness and dishonest gain, for shedding innocent blood, for oppression and doing violence.
But thine eyes and thine heart are not but for thy covetousness, and for to shed innocent blood, and for oppression, and for violence, to do it.
But you have eyes and a heart for nothing except your own dishonest profit, shedding innocent blood and committing extortion and oppression.
But you set your eyes and heart on nothing but unjust gain; you spill the blood of the innocent; you practice cruelty; you oppress your subjects.
“In contrast, your eyes and heart are controlled entirely by your greed, your desire for shedding innocent blood, oppressing and extorting.”
But all you think about is how to cheat or abuse or murder some innocent victim.
But thine eyes and thy heart are only on thine extortion, and on the blood of the innocent, to shed it, and on oppression and on violence, to do it.
But thy eyes and thy heart are set upon covetousness, and upon shedding innocent blood, and upon oppression, and running after evil works.
“Jehoiakim, your eyes look only for what benefits yourself. You are always thinking about getting more for yourself. You are willing to kill innocent people. You are willing to steal things from other people.”
‘But you always want to cheat people, so that you can get more riches for yourself. You make plans to kill people who have not done anything wrong. You hurt people in cruel ways.’
But your eyes and your heart are greedy for gain, for shedding innocent blood, for oppression, and committing violence.
But you have eyes and heart only for your dishonest gain, for shedding innocent blood, and for practicing oppression and violence.”

“But ·you only look for and think about [L your eyes and your heart are on] what you can get dishonestly. You are even willing to ·kill innocent people [L pour out innocent blood] to get it. You feel free to ·hurt [oppress] people and to steal from them.”

“But your eyes and your mind are set on nothing but dishonest profits. You kill innocent people and violently oppress your people.”
But you can only see your selfish interests; you kill the innocent and violently oppress your people. The Lord has spoken.
But you have eyes and a heart for nothing except your own dishonest profit, shedding innocent blood and committing extortion and oppression.
“But your eyes only look for what you can get dishonestly. You are always thinking about getting more for yourself. You are even willing to kill innocent people to get it. You are making it hard for people. You even steal things from them.”
But your eyes and heart are on nothing but your dishonest gain, shedding the blood of innocent people, and practicing oppression and extortion.”

But you! You are full of selfish greed and all dishonesty! You murder the innocent, oppress the poor, and reign with ruthlessness.
“Doom to him who builds palaces but bullies people, who makes a fine house but destroys lives, Who cheats his workers and won’t pay them for their work, Who says, ‘I’ll build me an elaborate mansion with spacious rooms and fancy windows. I’ll bring in rare and expensive woods and the latest in interior decor.’ So, that makes you a king— living in a fancy palace? Your father got along just fine, didn’t he? He did what was right and treated people fairly, And things went well with him. He stuck up for the down-and-out, And things went well for Judah. Isn’t this what it means to know me?” God’s Decree! “But you’re blind and brainless. All you think about is yourself, Taking advantage of the weak, bulldozing your way, bullying victims.”
But your eyes and your heart are intent only on your covetousness and on shedding innocent blood and on oppression and violence.
“But your eyes and your mind are set on nothing but dishonest profits. You kill innocent people and violently oppress your people.”

But your eyes and your heart are concerned only with your own interests; you do not hesitate to shed innocent blood and to perpetrate oppression and violence.
“But you only look for and think about what you can get dishonestly. You are even willing to kill innocent people to get it. You feel free to hurt people and to steal from them.”
But you are always thinking and looking for ways to increase your wealth by dishonest means. Your eyes and your heart are set on killing some innocent person and committing fraud and oppression.’”
“Jehoiakim, the only thing on your mind is to get rich by cheating others. You would even kill people who are not guilty of doing anything wrong. You would mistreat them. You would take everything they own.”
“But your eyes and your heart are set only on dishonest gain, on shedding innocent blood and on oppression and extortion.”

But you are so different: your eyes are focused and your heart is set on one goal: deceitful personal gain. You make the innocent pay with their blood; you violently oppress them and take what is not yours.

Forsooth thine eyes and heart be to avarice, and to shed innocent blood, and to false challenge, and to the performing of evil work. (But thine eyes and thy heart be turned to greed, and to pour out innocent blood, and to oppression, and to the performing of evil work.)
But thine eyes and thy heart are not, Except on thy dishonest gain, And on shedding of innocent blood, And on oppression, and on doing of violence.
