Galatians 4:17
Print
They zealously seek after you, but for no good; yea, they would exclude you, that ye might seek after them.
They zealously seek you in no good way; nay, they desire to shut you out, that ye may seek them.
These men [the Judaizers] eagerly seek you [to entrap you with honeyed words and attention, to win you over to their philosophy], not honorably [for their purpose is not honorable or worthy of consideration]. They want to isolate you [from us who oppose them] so that you will seek them.
These men [the Judaizing teachers] are zealously trying to dazzle you [paying court to you, making much of you], but their purpose is not honorable or worthy or for any good. What they want to do is to isolate you [from us who oppose them], so that they may win you over to their side and get you to court their favor.
They zealously affect you, but not well; yea, they would exclude you, that ye might affect them.
They court you eagerly, but not for good. They want to exclude you from me, so that you would pursue them.
They are so concerned about you, though not with good intentions. Rather, they want to shut you out so that you would run after them.
True, these teachers are zealous for you, but their motives are not good. They want to separate you from us so that you will become zealous for them.
Those people may be paying you a lot of attention, but it isn't for your good. They only want to keep you away from me, so you will pay them a lot of attention.
They are not rightly zealous after you, but desire to shut you out [from us], that ye may be zealous after them.
They are zealously-seeking you— not commendably, but they want to shut you out in-order-that you might be zealously-seeking them.
They are zealous in your regard not well: but they would exclude you, that you might be zealous for them.
Those people are working hard to persuade you, but this is not good for you. They want to persuade you to turn against us and work hard for them.
Those false teachers try very much to please you. But they do not really want what is good for you. They want to make you turn away from me. Then you will only want to listen to them.
Those people are eager to win you over, but not in a good way. Rather, they want to alienate you, so that you will be eager for them.
They make much of you, but for no good purpose. They want to shut you out, that you may make much of them.
They make much of you, but for no good purpose. They want to shut you out, that you may make much of them.
Those people [C the false teachers; 1:7] ·are working hard to persuade you [or show great interest in you; or are eager to win your favor; L are zealous for you], but ·this is not good for you [for no good purpose; or their intentions are not good]. They want to persuade you to ·turn against [reject; exclude] us and ·follow only [care only for; L be zealous for] them.
They are jealous over you amiss: yea, they would exclude you, that ye should altogether love them.
These people ⌞who distort the Good News⌟ are devoted to you, but not in a good way. They don’t want you to associate with me so that you will be devoted only to them.
Those other people show a deep interest in you, but their intentions are not good. All they want is to separate you from me, so that you will have the same interest in them as they have in you.
They are enthusiastic about you, but not for any good. Instead, they want to isolate you so you will be enthusiastic about them.
Those people are working hard to persuade you. But this is not good for you. They want to persuade you to turn against us. They want you to follow only them.
These people who have been instructing you are devoted to you, but not in a good way. They want you to avoid me so that you will be devoted to them.
Oh, I know how keen these men are to win you over, but can’t you see that it is for their own ends? They would like to see you and me separated altogether, and have you all to themselves. Don’t think I’m jealous—it is a grand thing that men should be keen to win you, whether I’m there or not, provided it is for the truth. Oh, my dear children, I feel the pangs of childbirth all over again till Christ be formed within you, and how I long to be with you now! Perhaps I could then alter my tone to suit your mood. As it is, I honestly don’t know how to deal with you.
¶ They are zealous after you, but not for good; they would exclude you from us, that ye might be zealous after them.
They zealously affect you, but not well; yea, they would exclude you, that ye might affect them.
They zealously affect you, but not well; yea, they would exclude you, that ye might affect them.
They zealously seek you, not commendably, but they wish to shut you out so that you will zealously seek them.
They zealously seek you, not commendably, but they want to exclude you, in order that you may seek them zealously.
Those false teachers who are so anxious to win your favor are not doing it for your good. What they are trying to do is to shut you off from me so that you will pay more attention to them.
Those heretical teachers go to great lengths to flatter you, but their motives are rotten. They want to shut you out of the free world of God’s grace so that you will always depend on them for approval and direction, making them feel important. * * *
They would zealously influence you, but not favorably. Yes, they would exclusively control you, so that you might consult them.
They zealously seek your favor, but for no good purpose. Rather, they want to separate you from us so that you will seek them.
These people who distort the Good News are devoted to you, but not in a good way. They don’t want you to associate with me so that you will be devoted only to them.
They show interest in you, but not in a good way; they want to isolate you, so that you may show interest in them.
They eagerly seek you, not in a commendable way, but they want to shut you out so that you will seek them.
They eagerly seek you, not commendably, but they wish to shut you out so that you will seek them.
Others are seeking to curry your favor, but they are not sincere. They are attempting to alienate you from us so that you may make them the sole object of your attention.
Those people are working hard to persuade you, but this is not good for you. They want to persuade you to turn against us and follow only them.
They court you eagerly, but for no good purpose; they want to exclude you, so that you would seek them eagerly.
Those people are trying hard to win you over. But it is not for your good. They want to take you away from us. They want you to commit yourselves to them.
Those people are zealous to win you over, but for no good. What they want is to alienate you from us, so that you may have zeal for them.
Those people are zealous to win you over, but for no good. What they want is to alienate you from us, so that you may have zeal for them.
They zealously court you, but for no good; yes, they want to exclude you, that you may be zealous for them.
Those false teachers are trying to turn your eyes toward them. They do not want you to follow my teaching. What they are doing is not good.
Those false teachers are so eager to win your favor, but their intentions are not good. They are trying to shut you off from me so that you will pay attention only to them.
They are fervent over you amiss. Yea, they intend to exclude you so that you will be fervent for them.
They make much of you, but for no good purpose; they want to exclude you, so that you may make much of them.
They make much of you, but for no good purpose; they want to exclude you, so that you may make much of them.
They make much of you, but for no good purpose; they want to exclude you, so that you may make much of them.
They make much of you but for no good purpose; they want to exclude you, so that you may make much of them.
The other lot are eager for you, but it’s not in a good cause. They want to shut you out, so that you will then be eager for them.
They (the mohalim haGoyim) are zealously courting you, but not in a good way; rather, they desire to cut you off and shut you out, in order that you may be zealous for them.
They are wrongly jealous for you. Yea, they would separate you from us, so that you would be jealous for them.
They make much of you, but for no good purpose; they want to shut you out, that you may make much of them.
They make much of you, but for no good purpose; they want to shut you out, that you may make much of them.
Others zealously court you—not in a good way, but they wish to shut you out so that you will court them.
I’ll tell you what these false brothers and sisters are counting on: your attention. They are ravenous for it. They are not acting honorably or in your best interests. They want to keep you away from the good news we proclaim so they can have you all to themselves.
They zealously seek you in no good way. No, they desire to alienate you, that you may seek them.
Other people are trying hard to get you on their side. But they do not mean to help you. They want to get you away from Christ so that you will listen to them.
They love not you well [They love you not well], but they will exclude you, that ye follow them.
they are zealous for you -- [yet] not well, but they wish to shut us out, that for them ye may be zealous;
