Deuteronomy 12:8
Print
Ye shall not do after all the things that we do here this day, every man whatsoever being right in his own eyes.
Ye shall not do after all the things that we do here this day, every man whatsoever is right in his own eyes;
“You shall not do at all what we are doing here [in the camp] today, every man doing whatever is right in his [own] eyes.
You shall not do according to all we do here [in the camp] this day, every man doing whatever looks right in his own eyes.
Ye shall not do after all the things that we do here this day, every man whatsoever is right in his own eyes.
“You are not to do as we are doing here today; everyone is doing whatever seems right in his own sight.
Don’t act like we’ve been acting here lately—everyone doing what seems right to them—
You will not do things the way we do them here today, where everyone does whatever in his own opinion seems right;
Soon you will cross the Jordan, and the Lord will help you conquer your enemies and let you live in peace, there in the land he has given you. But after you are settled, life will be different. You must not offer sacrifices just anywhere you want to. Instead, the Lord will choose a place somewhere in Israel where you must go to worship him. All of your sacrifices and offerings must be taken there, including sacrifices to please the Lord and any gift you promise or voluntarily give him. That's where you must also take one tenth of your grain, wine, and olive oil, as well as the first-born of your cattle, sheep, and goats. You and your family and servants will eat your gifts and sacrifices and celebrate there at the place of worship, because the Lord your God has made you successful in everything you have done. And since Levites will not have any land of their own, you must ask some of them to come along and celebrate with you. Sometimes you may want to kill an animal for food and not as a sacrifice. If the Lord has blessed you and given you enough cows or sheep or goats, then you can butcher one of them where you live. You can eat it just like the meat from a deer or gazelle that you kill when you go hunting. And even those people who are unclean and unfit for worship can have some of the meat. But you must not eat the blood of any animal—let the blood drain out on the ground.
Ye shall not do after all that we do here this day, each one whatever is right in his own eyes.
You shall not do there the things we do here this day, every man that which seemeth good to himself.
“You must not continue to worship the way we have been worshiping. Until now each of us has been worshiping God any way we wanted.
At this time, all of you now do what you think is right. But when you are in the land, you must worship God in a different way.
Do not in any way do what we are doing here today, that is, each person doing whatever is right in his own eyes,
“You shall not do according to all that we are doing here today, everyone doing whatever is right in his own eyes,
“You shall not do according to all that we are doing here today, everyone doing whatever is right in his own eyes,
Do not ·worship [act] the way we have been ·doing [acting] today, each person doing what ·he thinks is right [L is right/virtuous in his own eyes].
Ye shall not do after all these things that we do here this day: that is, every man whatsoever seemeth him good in his own eyes.
Never worship in the way that it’s being done here today, where everyone does whatever he considers right.
“When that time comes, you must not do as you have been doing. Until now you have all been worshiping as you please,
“You are not to do as we are doing here today; everyone is doing whatever seems right in his own eyes.
Do not worship the way we have been doing today. Each person does what he thinks is right.
“You must not act as we have been doing here today, where everyone acts as they see fit,
Ye shall not do after all the things that we do here this day, each man doing what seems right in his own eyes,
Ye shall not do after all the things that we do here this day, every man whatsoever is right in his own eyes.
Ye shall not do after all the things that we do here this day, every man whatsoever is right in his own eyes.
“You shall not do at all what we are doing here today, every man doing whatever is right in his own eyes;
“You must not do just as we are doing here today, each according to all that is right in his eyes.
“You will no longer go your own way as you do now, everyone doing whatever he thinks is right;
Don’t continue doing things the way we’re doing them at present, each of us doing as we wish. Until now you haven’t arrived at the goal, the resting place, the inheritance that God, your God, is giving you. But the minute you cross the Jordan River and settle into the land God, your God, is enabling you to inherit, he’ll give you rest from all your surrounding enemies. You’ll be able to settle down and live in safety.
You are not to do all the things that we are doing here today, where every man does whatever is right in his own eyes.
Never worship in the way that it’s being done here today, where everyone does whatever he considers right.
You shall not do as we are doing here today, everyone doing what is right in their own sight,
“You shall not do at all what we are doing here today, everyone doing whatever is right in his own eyes;
“You shall not do at all what we are doing here today, every man doing whatever is right in his own eyes;
You are not to do things the way we do them today, that each person does as he sees fit,
Do not worship the way we have been doing today, each person doing what he thinks is right.
You must not do as we are doing here today, with everyone doing what seems best to him,
You must not do as we’re doing here today. All of us are doing only what we think is right.
You are not to do as we do here today, everyone doing as they see fit,
You are not to do as we do here today, everyone doing as they see fit,
“You shall not at all do as we are doing here today—every man doing whatever is right in his own eyes—
You will not do at all the things we are doing here today, for every man is doing whatever is right in his own eyes.
“Your pattern of worship will change. Today all of you are doing as you please,
You shall not act as we are acting here today, all of us according to our own desires,
You shall not act as we are acting here today, all of us according to our own desires,
You shall not act as we are acting here today, all of us according to our own desires,
“You shall not act as we are acting here today, all of us according to our own desires,
Ye shall not do after all the things that we do here today, ish koh hayashar be’einav (every man whatsoever is right in his own eyes).
You shall not do according to all that we are doing here this day, every man doing whatever is right in his own eyes;
You shall not do according to all that we are doing here this day, every man doing whatever is right in his own eyes;
You will not do all the things as we are doing here today—everyone doing what is right in his own eyes.
Right now we’re letting everyone do as he or she sees fit here with unregulated sacrifices,
You shall not do all the things that we do here today, every man whatever is right in his own eyes;
Ye shall not do there those things which we do here today, each man that that seemeth rightful to himself.
`Ye do not do according to all that we are doing here to-day, each anything that is right in his own eyes,
