2 Corinthians 2:16

to the one we are the savor of death unto death, and to the other the savor of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?
to the one a savor from death unto death; to the other a savor from life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?
to the latter one an aroma from death to death [a fatal, offensive odor], but to the other an aroma from life to life [a vital fragrance, living and fresh]. And who is adequate and sufficiently qualified for these things?
To the latter it is an aroma [wafted] from death to death [a fatal odor, the smell of doom]; to the former it is an aroma from life to life [a vital fragrance, living and fresh]. And who is qualified (fit and sufficient) for these things? [Who is able for such a ministry? We?]
To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?
To some we are an aroma of death leading to death, but to others, an aroma of life leading to life. Who is adequate for these things?
We smell like a contagious dead person to those who are dying, but we smell like the fountain of life to those who are being saved. Who is qualified for this kind of ministry?
to the latter, we are the smell of death leading only to more death; but to the former, we are the sweet smell of life leading to more life. Who is equal to such a task?
In fact, God thinks of us as a perfume that brings Christ to everyone. For people who are being saved, this perfume has a sweet smell and leads them to a better life. But for people who are lost, it has a bad smell and leads them to a horrible death. No one really has what it takes to do this work.
to the one an odour from death unto death, but to the others an odour from life unto life; and who [is] sufficient for these things?
to the ones an aroma from death to death, but to the others an aroma from life to life. And who is sufficient for these things?
To the one indeed the odour of death unto death: but to the others the odour of life unto life. And for these things who is so sufficient?
To those who are being lost, this perfume smells like death, and it brings them death. But to those who are being saved, it has the sweet smell of life, and it brings them life. So who is good enough to do this work?
For the people who are dying, we are like a bad smell that brings a message of death. But for the people that God is saving, we are like a lovely smell that brings a message of new life. Nobody is really good enough to tell such an important message!
To some we are the odor of death that is a prelude to death, to the others the fragrance of life that is a prelude to life. And who is qualified for these things?
to one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life. Who is sufficient for these things?
to one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life. Who is sufficient for these things?
To those who are ·lost [perishing; headed for destruction], we are the ·smell [aroma] of death that brings death, but to those who are being saved, we are the ·smell [aroma] of life that brings life. So who is ·able [qualified; adequate] to do this work?
To the one we are the savor of death, unto death, and to the other the savor of life, unto life: and who is sufficient for these things?
To some people we are a deadly fragrance, while to others we are a life-giving fragrance. Who is qualified to tell about Christ?
For those who are being lost, it is a deadly stench that kills; but for those who are being saved, it is a fragrance that brings life. Who, then, is capable for such a task?
To some we are an aroma of death leading to death, but to others, an aroma of life leading to life. And who is competent for this?
To those who are lost, we are the smell of death that brings death. But to those who are being saved, we are the smell of life that brings life. So who is able to do this work?
To some people we are a deadly fragrance, while to others we are a living fragrance. Who is qualified for this?
Thanks be to God who leads us, wherever we are, on his own triumphant way and makes our knowledge of him spread throughout the world like a lovely perfume! We Christians have the unmistakeable “scent” of Christ, discernible alike to those who are being saved and to those who are heading for death. To the latter it seems like the very smell of doom, to the former it has the fresh fragrance of life itself. Who could think himself adequate for a responsibility like this? Only the man who refuses to join that large class which trafficks in the Word of God—the man who speaks, as we do, in the name of God, under the eyes of God, as Christ’s chosen minister.
to the one we are the savour of death unto death and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?
To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?
to the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?
to the one an aroma from death to death, to the other an aroma from life to life. And who is sufficient for these things?
to those on the one hand an odor from death to death, and to those on the other hand a fragrance from life to life. And who is qualified for these things?
To those who are not being saved, we seem a fearful smell of death and doom, while to those who know Christ we are a life-giving perfume. But who is adequate for such a task as this?
When I arrived in Troas to proclaim the Message of the Messiah, I found the place wide open: God had opened the door; all I had to do was walk through it. But when I didn’t find Titus waiting for me with news of your condition, I couldn’t relax. Worried about you, I left and came on to Macedonia province looking for Titus and a reassuring word on you. And I got it, thank God! In the Messiah, in Christ, God leads us from place to place in one perpetual victory parade. Through us, he brings knowledge of Christ. Everywhere we go, people breathe in the exquisite fragrance. Because of Christ, we give off a sweet scent rising to God, which is recognized by those on the way of salvation—an aroma redolent with life. But those on the way to destruction treat us more like the stench from a rotting corpse. This is a terrific responsibility. Is anyone competent to take it on? No—but at least we don’t take God’s Word, water it down, and then take it to the streets to sell it cheap. We stand in Christ’s presence when we speak; God looks us in the face. We get what we say straight from God and say it as honestly as we can.
To the one we are the fragrance of death, which brings death, and to the other the fragrance of life, which brings life. Who is sufficient for these things?
we are a deadly fume that kills, but to the former we are a life-giving fragrance that brings life. And who is adequate for ministry like this?
To some people we are a deadly fragrance, while to others we are a life-giving fragrance. Who is qualified to tell about Christ?
to the latter an odor of death that leads to death, to the former an odor of life that leads to life. Who is qualified for this?
to the one an aroma from death to death, to the other an aroma from life to life. And who is adequate for these things?
to the one an aroma from death to death, to the other an aroma from life to life. And who is adequate for these things?
to the latter, the odor of death that leads to death; to the former, a fragrance of life leading to life. Who is truly qualified for such a task?
To those who are lost, we are the smell of death that brings death, but to those who are being saved, we are the smell of life that brings life. So who is able to do this work?
to the latter an odor from death to death, but to the former a fragrance from life to life. And who is adequate for these things?
To those who are dying, we are the smell of death. To those who are being saved, we are the perfume of life. Who is able to do this work?
To the one we are an aroma that brings death; to the other, an aroma that brings life. And who is equal to such a task?
To the one we are an aroma that brings death; to the other, an aroma that brings life. And who is equal to such a task?
To the one we are the aroma of death leading to death, and to the other the aroma of life leading to life. And who is sufficient for these things?
It is the smell of death to those who are lost in sin. It is the smell of life to those who are being saved from the punishment of sin. Who is able for such a work?
To those who are perishing, we are a dreadful smell of death and doom. But to those who are being saved, we are a life-giving perfume. And who is adequate for such a task as this?
To the one part we are the savour of death unto death, and to the other part we are the savour of life unto life. And who is fit for these things?
to the one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life. Who is sufficient for these things?
to the one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life. Who is sufficient for these things?
to the one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life. Who is sufficient for these things?
to the one group a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life. Who is qualified for these things?
To the latter, it’s a smell which comes from death and leads to death; but to the former it’s the smell of life which leads to life. Who can rise to this challenge?
To the latter ones a fragrance of mavet unto mavet; but to the former ones a fragrance of Chayyim (life) unto Chayyim [Lk 2:34]. Who is sufficient for these things? [2C 3:5-6]
To the one we are the savor of death unto death, and to the other the savor of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?
to one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life. Who is sufficient for these things?
to one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life. Who is sufficient for these things?
to the one an aroma from death to death, to the other an aroma from life to life. Who is competent for these things?
To those who are dying, they smell the stench of death in us. And to those being rescued, we are the unmistakable scent of life. Who is worthy of this calling?
to the one a stench from death to death, to the other a sweet aroma from life to life. Who is sufficient for these things?
To others soothly odour of death into death [Soothly to others we be odour of death into death], but to the others we be odour of life into life. And to these things who is so able?
to the one, indeed, a fragrance of death to death, and to the other, a fragrance of life to life; and for these things who is sufficient?
