1 Corinthians 5:2
Print
And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you.
And ye are puffed up, and did not rather mourn, that he that had done this deed might be taken away from among you.
And you are proud and arrogant! You should have mourned in shame so that the man who has done this [disgraceful] thing would be removed from your fellowship!
And you are proud and arrogant! And you ought rather to mourn (bow in sorrow and in shame) until the person who has done this [shameful] thing is removed from your fellowship and your midst!
And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you.
And you are arrogant! Shouldn’t you be filled with grief and remove from your congregation the one who did this?
And you’re proud of yourselves instead of being so upset that the one who did this thing is expelled from your community.
And you stay proud? Shouldn’t you rather have felt some sadness that would have led you to remove from your company the man who has done this thing?
You are proud, when you ought to feel bad enough to chase away anyone who acts like this.
And *ye* are puffed up, and ye have not rather mourned, in order that he that has done this deed might be taken away out of the midst of you.
And you are puffed-up, and did not mourn instead, in order that the one having done this deed might be taken out of your midst.
And you are puffed up; and have not rather mourned, that he might be taken away from among you, that hath done this deed.
And still you are proud of yourselves! You should have been filled with sadness. And the man who committed that sin should be put out of your group.
But, you are still proud of yourselves! Instead, you ought to be very sad and ashamed. You should have sent this man away from your group.
Yet you are proud! Shouldn’t you have been filled with sorrow so that the man who did this deed would be removed from among you?
And you are arrogant! Ought you not rather to mourn? Let him who has done this be removed from among you.
And you are arrogant! Ought you not rather to mourn? Let him who has done this be removed from among you.
And you are ·proud [arrogant; puffed up]! ·You should [L Should you not…?] have been filled with ·sadness [grief; mourning] so that the man who did this should be put out of your group.
And ye are puffed up, and have not rather sorrowed, that he which hath done this deed, might be put from among you.
You’re being arrogant when you should have been more upset about this. If you had been upset, the man who did this would have been removed from among you.
How, then, can you be proud? On the contrary, you should be filled with sadness, and the man who has done such a thing should be expelled from your fellowship.
And you are inflated with pride, instead of filled with grief so that he who has committed this act might be removed from your congregation.
And still you are proud of yourselves! You should have been filled with sadness. And the man who did that sin should be put out of your group.
And you are being arrogant instead of being filled with grief and seeing to it that the man who did this is removed from among you.
It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and immorality of a kind that even pagans condemn—a man has apparently taken his father’s wife! Are you still proud of your church? Shouldn’t you be overwhelmed with sorrow and shame? The man who has done such a thing should certainly be expelled from your fellowship!
And ye are puffed up and have not rather mourned, that he that has done this deed might be taken away from among you.
And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you.
And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you.
And you have become puffed up and have not mourned instead, so that the one who had done this deed would be removed from your midst.
And you are inflated with pride, and should you not rather have mourned, so that the one who has done this deed would be removed from your midst?
And are you still so conceited, so “spiritual”? Why aren’t you mourning in sorrow and shame and seeing to it that this man is removed from your membership?
I also received a report of scandalous sex within your church family, a kind that wouldn’t be tolerated even outside the church: One of your men is sleeping with his stepmother. And you’re so above it all that it doesn’t even faze you! Shouldn’t this break your hearts? Shouldn’t it bring you to your knees in tears? Shouldn’t this person and his conduct be confronted and dealt with?
But you are arrogant. Instead you should have mourned, so that he who has done this deed might be removed from among you.
And you are arrogant! · Ought you not rather to have mourned, so that the man who did this deed would be removed from your midst? ·
You’re being arrogant when you should have been more upset about this. If you had been upset, the man who did this would have been removed from among you.
And you are inflated with pride. Should you not rather have been sorrowful? The one who did this deed should be expelled from your midst.
You have become arrogant and have not mourned instead, so that the one who had done this deed would be removed from your midst.
You have become arrogant and have not mourned instead, so that the one who had done this deed would be removed from your midst.
How can you be proud of yourselves? You should rather have been overcome with grief and expelled from the community anyone who acted in such a manner.
And you are proud! You should have been filled with sadness so that the man who did this should be put out of your group.
And you are proud! Shouldn’t you have been deeply sorrowful instead and removed the one who did this from among you?
And you are proud! Shouldn’t you be very sad instead? Shouldn’t you have thrown out of your church the man doing this?
And you are proud! Shouldn’t you rather have gone into mourning and have put out of your fellowship the man who has been doing this?
And you are proud! Shouldn’t you rather have gone into mourning and have put out of your fellowship the man who has been doing this?
And you are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he who has done this deed might be taken away from among you.
Instead of being sorry, you are proud of yourselves. The man who is living like that should be sent away from you.
You are so proud of yourselves, but you should be mourning in sorrow and shame. And you should remove this man from your fellowship.
And you swell, and have not rather sorrowed, so that he who has done this deed might be put out from among you.
And you are arrogant! Should you not rather have mourned, so that he who has done this would have been removed from among you?
And you are arrogant! Should you not rather have mourned, so that he who has done this would have been removed from among you?
And you are arrogant! Should you not rather have mourned, so that he who has done this would have been removed from among you?
And you are arrogant! Should you not rather have mourned, so that he who has done this would have been removed from among you?
And you’re puffed up! Why aren’t you in mourning? Why aren’t you getting rid of the person who’s done such a thing?
And you have been puffed up with ga’avah (pride). Should you not rather have been filled with agmat nefesh (grief), so that he who has done this would have been taken away from among you?
And you are puffed up, and moreover have not mourned, that the one who has done this deed might be taken from among you.
And you are arrogant! Ought you not rather to mourn? Let him who has done this be removed from among you.
And you are arrogant! Ought you not rather to mourn? Let him who has done this be removed from among you.
And you are puffed up! Shouldn’t you have mourned instead, so that the one who did this deed might be removed from among you?
You have turned into an arrogant lot who refuse to see the tragedy right in front of your eyes and mourn for it. If you would face these hard realities, the one living in this sin would be removed from the community.
You are arrogant, and didn’t mourn instead, that he who had done this deed might be removed from among you.
Can it be that you are still proud? This should make you very sad. The man who has done this should be put out of the church meeting.
And ye be swollen with pride [And ye be blown with pride], and not more had wailing, that he that did this work, be taken away from the middle of you.
and ye are having been puffed up, and did not rather mourn, that he may be removed out of the midst of you who did this work,
