1 Corinthians 14:24
Print
But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not or is unlearned, he is convinced by all and is judged by all,
But if all prophesy, and there come in one unbelieving or unlearned, he is reproved by all, he is judged by all;
But if all prophesy [foretelling the future, speaking a new message from God to the people], and an unbeliever or outsider comes in, he is convicted [of his sins] by all, and he is called to account by all [because he can understand what is being said];
But if all prophesy [giving inspired testimony and interpreting the divine will and purpose] and an unbeliever or untaught outsider comes in, he is told of his sin and reproved and convicted and convinced by all, and his defects and needs are examined (estimated, determined) and he is called to account by all,
But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all:
But if all are prophesying and some unbeliever or outsider comes in, he is convicted by all and is called to account by all.
But if everyone is prophesying when an unbeliever or outsider comes in, they are tested by all and called to account by all.
But if you all prophesy, and some unbeliever or uninstructed person enters, he is convicted of sin by all, he is brought under judgment by all,
But suppose all of you are prophesying when those unbelievers and outsiders come in. They will realize that they are sinners, and they will want to change their ways because of what you are saying.
But if all prophesy, and some unbeliever or simple [person] come in, he is convicted of all, he is judged of all;
But if they all prophesy, and some unbeliever or an uninstructed one comes in, he is convicted by all. He is examined by all.
But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or an unlearned person, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all.
But suppose you are all prophesying and someone comes in who does not believe or who is without understanding. Their sin will be shown to them, and they will be judged by everything you say.
But if all of you are speaking clear messages from God, a visitor will understand you. He may not believe in God. He may not have learned much about God. But he will hear God's message. He will understand that he has done wrong things. He will know that God will judge him. He will learn this from what all of you are saying.
But if all prophesy and some unbeliever or uninformed visitor comes in, he is reproved by all and judged by all,
But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or outsider enters, he is convicted by all, he is called to account by all,
But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or outsider enters, he is convicted by all, he is called to account by all,
But suppose everyone is prophesying and unbelievers or ·those who does not understand [or inquirers/seekers] come in. If everyone is prophesying, ·their sin will be shown to them [L they will be convicted by all], and they will be judged by ·all that they hear [L all].
But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is rebuked of all men, and is judged of all,
Now suppose you speak what God has revealed. When unbelievers or outsiders come in you will show them where they are wrong and convince them that they are sinners.
But if everyone is proclaiming God's message when some unbelievers or ordinary people come in, they will be convinced of their sin by what they hear. They will be judged by all they hear,
But if all are prophesying and some unbeliever or uninformed person comes in, he is convicted by all and is judged by all.
But suppose everyone is prophesying and someone comes in who does not believe or is without understanding. If everyone is prophesying, his sin will be shown to him, and he will be judged by all that he hears.
But if everyone is prophesying, when an unbeliever or an uneducated person comes in he will be convicted and examined by everything that’s happening.
That means that tongues are a sign of God’s power, not for those who are unbelievers, but to those who already believe. Preaching the word of God, on the other hand, is a sign of God’s power to those who do not believe rather than to believers. So that, if at a full church meeting you are all speaking with tongues and men come in who are both uninstructed and without faith, will they not say that you are insane? But if you are preaching God’s word and such a man should come in to your meeting, he is convicted and challenged by your united speaking of the truth. His secrets are exposed and he will fall on his knees acknowledging God and saying that God is truly among you!
But if all prophesy, and there come in one that does not believe or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all;
But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all:
But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all:
But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or an uninformed man enters, he is convicted by all, he is called to account by all;
But if all prophesy, and some unbeliever or outsider enters, he is convicted by all, he is judged by all,
But if you prophesy, preaching God’s Word, even though such preaching is mostly for believers, and an unsaved person or a new Christian comes in who does not understand about these things, all these sermons will convince him of the fact that he is a sinner, and his conscience will be pricked by everything he hears.
To be perfectly frank, I’m getting exasperated with your childish thinking. How long before you grow up and use your head—your adult head? It’s all right to have a childlike unfamiliarity with evil; a simple no is all that’s needed there. But there’s far more to saying yes to something. Only mature and well-exercised intelligence can save you from falling into gullibility. It’s written in Scripture that God said, In strange tongues and from the mouths of strangers I will preach to this people, but they’ll neither listen nor believe. So where does it get you, all this speaking in tongues no one understands? It doesn’t help believers, and it only gives unbelievers something to gawk at. Plain truth-speaking, on the other hand, goes straight to the heart of believers and doesn’t get in the way of unbelievers. If you come together as a congregation and some unbelieving outsiders walk in on you as you’re all praying in tongues, unintelligible to each other and to them, won’t they assume you’ve taken leave of your senses and get out of there as fast as they can? But if some unbelieving outsiders walk in on a service where people are speaking out God’s truth, the plain words will bring them up against the truth and probe their hearts. Before you know it, they’re going to be on their faces before God, recognizing that God is among you.
But if all prophesy and there comes in one who does not believe or one unlearned, he is convinced by all and judged by all.
But if all are prophesying, and an unbeliever or outsider comes in, he is convicted by all, he is called to account by all,
Now suppose you speak what God has revealed. When unbelievers or outsiders come in you will show them where they are wrong and convince them that they are sinners.
But if everyone is prophesying, and an unbeliever or uninstructed person should come in, he will be convinced by everyone and judged by everyone,
But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or an outsider enters, he is convicted by all, he is called to account by all;
But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or an ungifted man enters, he is convicted by all, he is called to account by all;
However, if everyone is prophesying and an unbeliever or uninstructed person should enter, he would be reproved by all and judged by all,
But suppose everyone is prophesying and some people come in who do not believe or do not understand. If everyone is prophesying, their sin will be shown to them, and they will be judged by all that they hear.
But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or uninformed person enters, he will be convicted by all, he will be called to account by all.
But suppose unbelievers or visitors come in while everyone is prophesying. Then they will feel guilty about their sin. They will be judged by all.
But if an unbeliever or an inquirer comes in while everyone is prophesying, they are convicted of sin and are brought under judgment by all,
But if an unbeliever or an enquirer comes in while everyone is prophesying, they are convicted of sin and are brought under judgment by all,
But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or an uninformed person comes in, he is convinced by all, he is convicted by all.
But if a man who is not a Christian comes to your church meeting while you are all speaking God’s Word, he will understand that he is a sinner by what he hears. He will know he is guilty.
But if all of you are prophesying, and unbelievers or people who don’t understand these things come into your meeting, they will be convicted of sin and judged by what you say.
But if all prophesy and there comes in one who does not believe, or one unlearned, he is convicted by everyone, and is judged by everyone.
But if all prophesy, an unbeliever or outsider who enters is reproved by all and called to account by all.
But if all prophesy, an unbeliever or outsider who enters is reproved by all and called to account by all.
But if all prophesy, an unbeliever or outsider who enters is reproved by all and called to account by all.
But if all prophesy, an unbeliever or outsider who enters is reproved by all and called to account by all.
But if everyone prophesies, and outsiders or unbelievers come in, they will be called to account by everyone, judged by everyone,
However, if all speak forth divrei hanevu’ah (words of prophecy), and then in walks some Apikorosim or am ha’aretz, such a visitor is brought under conviction by all, he is brought into mishpat (judgment) by all,
But if all prophesy, and there comes in one who does not believe, or one unlearned, he is rebuked by all and is examined by all.
But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or outsider enters, he is convicted by all, he is called to account by all,
But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or outsider enters, he is convicted by all, he is called to account by all,
But if all are prophesying and some unbelieving or ungifted person comes in, he is convicted by all, he is called to account by all.
But let’s say an outsider or unbeliever walks in on a different scene: all are speaking for God with great power and insight in a language they know. What then? Well, the outsider would come under the conviction of his own sins and be called to accountability by the words of all the prophets.
But if all prophesy, and someone unbelieving or unlearned comes in, he is reproved by all, and he is judged by all.
But what happens if everyone speaks words from God? If such people come in, then the words from God will prove to them that they have done wrong. They will all speak to the heart.
But if all men prophesy, if any unfaithful man or unlearned man enter [Forsooth if all men prophecy, forsooth if any unfaithful man or idiot enter], he is convicted of all, he is wisely deemed of all.
and if all may prophecy, and any one may come in, an unbeliever or unlearned, he is convicted by all, he is discerned by all,
