²¹ because he was fully convinced^(A) that what He had promised He was also able to perform.^(B)

⁵ One person considers one day to be above another day.^(A) Someone else considers every day to be the same. Each one must be fully convinced in his own mind.^(B)

² I want their hearts to be encouraged^(A) and joined together in love, so that they may have all the riches of assured understanding and have the knowledge of God’s mystery^(B)—Christ.^[a](C)

¹² Epaphras,^(A) who is one of you, a slave of Christ Jesus, greets you. He is always contending^(B) for you in his prayers, so that you can stand mature and fully assured^[a] in everything God wills.^(C)

⁵ For our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, in the Holy Spirit,^(A) and with much assurance. You know what kind of men we were among you^(B) for your benefit,

¹⁷ But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that the proclamation might be fully made through me and all the Gentiles might hear. So I was rescued from the lion’s mouth.

¹¹ Now we want each of you to demonstrate the same diligence for the final realization of your hope,

²² let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed in pure water.^(A)
