⁴ for ^(A)he is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, ^(B)an avenger who carries out God's wrath on the wrongdoer.

¹⁹ Beloved, ^(A)never avenge yourselves, but leave it^[a] to the wrath of God, for it is written, ^(B)“Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.”

^4 (A)Let marriage be held in honour among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge ^(B)the sexually immoral and adulterous.
