8 In other words, it is not the children by physical descent who are God’s children,(A) but it is the children of the promise who are regarded as Abraham’s offspring.(B)
8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.
8 That is, those who are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God; but (A)the children of the promise are counted as the seed.
8 This means that it is not the children of the flesh who are the children of God, but (A)the children of the promise are counted as offspring.
16 The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed.(A) Scripture does not say “and to seeds,” meaning many people, but “and to your seed,”[a](B) meaning one person, who is Christ.
16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.
16 Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, “And to seeds,” as of many, but as of (A)one, (B)“And to your Seed,” who is (C)Christ.
16 Now (A)the promises were made (B)to Abraham and to his offspring. It does not say, “And to offsprings,” referring to many, but referring to one, (C)“And to your offspring,” who is Christ.
