¹⁵ Also ^(A)I swore to them in the wilderness that I would not bring them into the land which I had given them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all the lands,

⁵ Nevertheless, with most of them God was not pleased; for their dead bodies were ^(A)spread out in the wilderness.

¹⁴ For we have become partakers of Christ ^(A)if we keep the beginning of our ^[a](B)commitment firm until the end, ¹⁵ while it is said,

¹⁶ For who ^(D)provoked Him when they had heard? Indeed, ^(E)did not all those who came out of Egypt led by Moses? ¹⁷ And with whom was He angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, ^(F)whose dead bodies fell in the wilderness? ¹⁸ And to whom did He swear ^(G)that they would not enter His rest, but to those who were ^(H)disobedient? ¹⁹ And so we see that they were not able to enter because of ^(I)unbelief.
