³³ I didn’t know Him, but He^[a] who sent me to baptize with^[b] water told me, ‘The One you see the Spirit descending and resting on—He is the One who baptizes with^[c] the Holy Spirit.’^(A)

⁴ Then they were all filled^(A) with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different languages, as the Spirit gave them ability for speech.^(B)

³⁸ “Repent,”^(A) Peter said to them, “and be baptized,^(B) each of you, in the name^(C) of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

⁹ You, however, are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, since^[a] the Spirit of God lives in you.^(A) But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ,^(B) he does not belong to Him.
