² the Lord protects him and keeps him alive;
    he is called blessed in the land;
    you ^(A)do not give him up to the will of his enemies.

127 Unless the Lord builds the house,
    those who build it labour in vain.
Unless the Lord ^(B)watches over the city,
    the watchman stays awake in vain.

³     I, the Lord, am its keeper;
    every moment I water it.
    Lest anyone punish it,
I keep it night and day;

¹⁰ O you who love the Lord, ^(A)hate evil!
    He ^(B)preserves the lives of his ^(C)saints;
    he ^(D)delivers them from the hand of the wicked.
